DNA Genetic Screening
What is Genetic Screening?
Genetic testing is a type of medical test that identifies changes in genes, chromosomes, or proteins. The results of a genetic test can confirm or rule out a suspected genetic condition or help determine a person's chance of developing or passing on a genetic disorder.
A positive result can direct a person toward available prevention , monitoring , and treatment options.
Discover Your Genetic Risks
for Diseases Early
You have a unique mix of genes and genetic markers which are inherited from your parents. These markers may relate to disease risks.
Genetic screening can detect possible risks for many genetic diseases before symptoms appear. Based on the detailed results, you can work closely with our Doctors to develop a suitable health management plan to mitigate or delay the possible onset of disease through preventative actions. By knowing your risks, you can monitor your health closely and take proactive measures to live longer and healthier.

Understand & Manage Your Health
This Dtect Test screens your DNA for genetic markers that are linked to inherited risk factors for a wide range of cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and cancers. These markers serve as "red flags" in your DNA and can indicate if you are predisposed to a certain type of disease, disorder or cancer.
With the information from this markers, you can be better prepared to make lifestyle and dietary changes to mitigate your health risks, if necessary. The comprehensive test results can help you work with your Lifecare and F7 Doctors to develop a personalised health management plan for more effective prevention options.
All genetic markers screened for have been published and experimentally replicated in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dtect uses the latest research technologies available from Illumina, Inc. and Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., USA.

Limitations
Genetic screening can indicate whether an individual has a predisposition, or is at increased likelihood of having an inherited disease or disorder. However, it cannot indicate if the individual will show symptoms, how severe the symptoms will be, or whether the disease or disorder will progress over time.
A negative test result does not mean that an individual will not get the inherited disease or disorder because Dtect is designed to detect only highly significant markers which have been documented during medical research. Environmental and lifestyle factors also play a role in the development of inherited diseases and disorders.
